My idiot mother: "I am scared to death of that woman."

Me: "Why?"

My idiot mother: *stammers incoherently*

Me: Yeah, that's what I thought.

Look the woman isn’t perfect, but she definitely doesn’t have 2 impeachment trials, about 70 charges and 2 indictments, a case of being liable for sexual assault, and 2 ongoing investigations (not mention countless cronies in jail..). All she has are some questionable email storage habits and a sleezy husband.

Rules: post 10 of your favorite comfort tv series and then tag 10 people.

Alrighty, here we go

  1. M*a*s*h is a recent addition as of last year, but this show sweeped me off my feet and I now own so many more green clothes :D

2. Star Trek: also rather recent during the last four years, I'm now a full on trekkie and spent my time in quarantine for covid last year blissfully binging several shows

3. The Musketeers: Hot guys swordfighting, saving France and all that jazz. I like finished series, they're a neat little world to retreat into every once in a while.

4. Merlin: watched it once, cried about it a lot, rewatched a year later, cried even more and now I just step in whenever I miss my blorbos

5. Gilmore Girls: All the autumn girlies love to be in Stars Hollow when the leaves turn red. Has it's fair share of problems, but is still a cozy favourite.

6. Gossip Girl (OG series only obviously): I read all the books right before the series came out as a teen, and still appreciate the oppulence and drama of it all.
We do not talk about the ending.

7. Doctor Who: Bends your mind and puts it in a knot. Doesn't get more british than this I believe. Something cozy, something weird.

8. Once upon a time: I loved the concept from the start, once you get used to the insanity of it all, but it does take itself too seriously sometimes. So many blorbos!

9. Sherlock: Hotly debated for obvious reasons, but I liked it and still do, we don't talk about that ending either.

10. The Big Bang Theory: something safe and silly to watch.

I don’t watch all that much TV, but here are some general favorites:

1. West Wing– I think I have only ever watched it all once, but it’s seriously good. It is a good look into how the American political system works. Plus, the characters, writing, and plot are spot on.

2. Merlin– I have watched it its entirety twice. It is stupid but brilliant. I laughed, I cried, and I wanted to throw something at the screen. It has a special place in my heart.

3. Doctor Who– A part of me will always love it. I haven’t even watched it in years, but it’s intelligent, heart-rending, stupid, and silly all at once.

4. Supernatural– I have watched every single episode and I will never watch any of them again. Some of it is brilliant and some of it is incredibly stupid. I think Sam and Dean and the other regular characters are what make the show.

5. Sherlock– Ugh. It started off amazing. And it ended up a big pile of s***t. For real we all deserved better.

6. Firefly–Space cowboys!!!! What is better than that? But the movie is garbage and we don’t talk about it.

7. Agent Carter–freaking amazing! I love her and want to be her when I grow up. The fact that it was canceled is a sin.

8. Great British Baking Show–This is great for a rainy day or you’re sick. It is cute and mindless and somehow fun. It tickles me to no end that they are all so nice to each other.

9. Queer Eye– Love it. Love it. I adore the Fab 5. It makes me laugh and cry.

10. Miscellaneous Honorable Mention Shows: Mandalorian, Big Bang Theory, Say Yes to the Dress, Schitt’s Creek, The Office, Young Sheldon, Bridgerton, Project Runway, Downton Abby

When I was a kid in Chengdu, China, there’s a public phone number you could call to ask about general stuff like train schedule, the weather, phone numbers to businesses, etc. I thought I could ask them anything, so I once called the number and asked “do pineapples grow on trees or the ground?” and the operator, after a moment of silence, said “go ask your mom” and hung up.

You know we have always had libraries…but yes, go ask your relatives and never question them. Like when my dad told me it was illegal to not finish a tube of toothpaste. Yeah seems legit. Use every drop or the police will come. What are you in for? Not using all the toothpaste. You?
